Description of Services: |
The COPD Education Clinic focuses on the management of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) as well as other chronic lung diseases. Patients are taught about the pathophysiology of their lung disease, self-management strategies, and ways to optimize their physical well-being. The clinic conducts a variety of tests to assess and monitor pulmonary function and functional ability. For patients who continue to smoke, ongoing visits are offered to counsel on smoking cessation Helps patients understand:

Diagnosis: | COPD * asthma * pulmonary fibrosis * pulmonary hypertension * alpha 1-anti-trypsin deficiency * sarcoidosis * scleroderma * any chronic disease that causes respiratory impairment leading to deconditioning | ||
Other: | must be smoke-free for three months in order to attend clinic | ||
